Ladies Create Beautiful Blooms at Marine View Care Home

There is something wonderfully calming about arranging flowers, and our ladies at Marine View Lodge recently discovered just that during a delightful afternoon of creativity with Rubie. The session brought colour, conversation and a real sense of achievement to the home, as residents tried their hand at making miniature flower arrangements using charming salt cellars as decorative vases.

A Creative Afternoon with Rubie

Creative activities have always played an important part in life at Marine View Lodge, offering residents a wonderful outlet for self-expression while supporting wellbeing in a relaxed, sociable setting. This session was no exception. Rubie guided residents through the process of selecting and arranging colourful blooms, encouraging everyone to bring their own personal style and creativity to their designs.

The choice of salt cellars as vases gave the activity a lovely, unexpected twist, transforming everyday objects into charming little display pieces. Each resident took their time selecting flowers, considering colour, shape and texture before carefully building their own miniature arrangement.

Conversation, Laughter and Admiration

As the arrangements began to take shape, so did the atmosphere in the room. There was plenty of conversation, laughter and admiration as residents shared opinions on colour combinations, complimented one another's choices and enjoyed the simple pleasure of creating something beautiful together. Activities like this offer far more than a creative outlet; they provide a gentle, meaningful way for residents to connect, chat and spend quality time in each other's company.

For many, the process of arranging flowers can also be wonderfully reminiscent, calling to mind gardens, celebrations and happy memories from years gone by. Sessions like this tap into that sense of nostalgia while keeping hands and minds gently engaged.

A Splash of Colour Around the Home

By the end of the afternoon, the finished creations looked absolutely beautiful, each one unique and full of personality. The miniature arrangements have since brought a lovely splash of colour to communal spaces around the home, serving as a cheerful reminder of a happy afternoon well spent.

Well done to all of our talented ladies for their wonderful creativity, and a big thank you to Rubie for leading such an enjoyable and relaxing activity. It is moments like these, small in scale but rich in warmth, that make everyday life at Marine View Lodge so special.
