Associate Practitioner

We are searching for an Associate Practitioner to join our team. You will be providing support to Registered Nurses/Therapists in a variety of settings in the provision of high-quality interventions to meet the needs of patients requiring nursing care.

In this role you will be:

  • Working under the direction of qualified staff across identified service areas
  • Responsible for the full intervention of care as assigned by identified qualified clinicians, within agreed protocols following the completion of a competency-based training programme
  • Identifying equipment provision and carry out administrative and housekeeping tasks to support the service and patient care
  • To participate in training, service improvement and development initiatives
  • Carrying out clinical interventions and contributing to patient review using skills and knowledge
  • Evaluating and adapting interventions within set protocols to meet the changing needs of patients as they progress with treatment regimes
  • Ordering, fitting and demonstrating safe use of assistive equipment including the delivery of items
  • Participating in the monitoring of standards of care and audit of nursing/therapy practice which is research-based and supports the clinical governance framework
  • Coordinating clinical work with colleagues demonstrating effective time management skills and participates in the monitoring and reviewing of team performance
  • Promoting an environment where health promotion and informed patient choice is encouraged and development to their maximum potential within the available resources
  • Undertaking relevant training to enable the provision of high-quality service
  • Supporting registered staff with the induction, training and education of students and other staff as appropriate
  • Responsible for the safe physical environment including equipment and be appropriately responsible for the allocation of these resources
  • Complete effective record keeping which demonstrates the decision-making process care planned and given as well as patient outcomes in accordance with Trust Policy and legal requirements
  • Committing to continuous personal development/lifelong learning by attending mandatory training, relevant training courses and adhere to all organisation’s policies and procedures
  • Attending supervision/1:1 session, to undertake appraisal preparation and contribute to objective setting and personal development planning
  • Participating in and contributing to all activities associated with the team’s response to current trends and changes within the organisation
  • Client Group: Comprehensive portfolio of nursing care within a residential setting

Communications & Working Relationships

  • To form professional relationships with patients and communicate with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture
  • To effectively liaise with patients, carers and a range of Health and Social Care staff to facilitate treatment/rehabilitation plans
  • To report effectively to the team on patients’ performance/progress in relation to their planned care

Qualifications & Experience

For this role it is essential that you have:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in healthcare
  • Experience with lifting equipment
  • Experience in medication administration, wound care, infection control and pressure area care
  • Good level of written and spoken English

Rate of Pay: £15 p/h, depending on experience
